About SelfScript
Empowering Young Minds through Neurolinguistic Coaching
Welcome to SelfScript, a research study offering free one-on-one sessions for adolescents and young adults (ages 13–22) in the Cambridge, MA area
What is this?
A free, one-on-one, research-based program designed to support teens and young adults through structured, language-centered sessions.
Who is this for?
Young people (ages 13–22) who are:
-
Struggling with anxiety, overthinking, or negative self-talk
-
Feeling overwhelmed by social media, school pressure, or identity questions
-
Seeking clarity, focus, and tools for deeper self-understanding
-
Interested in developing stronger thinking, resilience, and cognitive flexibility
-
Open to engaging in reflective, language-based work
What am I offering?
-
A month-long program of free, individual sessions (2–3 per week)
-
Based on my own academic research into language, thought, and the brain
-
Confidential and anonymous, as part of a formal research study
-
Designed to help young people reframe unhelpful thought patterns and grow a stronger sense of self
About Me
I’m a researcher and writer with PhDs from Harvard University and the Sorbonne. My work focuses on the relationship between language, the mind, and the brain, drawing from neuroscience, psycholinguistics, and philosophy.
As a media scholar, I’m especially concerned about the cognitive effects of screen-based culture and social media on young minds. The SelfScript method is my response: a structured, language-centered approach to help adolescents and young adults build stronger, more flexible, and more self-aware ways of thinking.
What to Expect
-
Introductory session (up to 3 hours): We establish trust, explore cognitive and emotional patterns, and introduce key techniques
-
Core program: 2–3 sessions per week (45–90 minutes each) over the course of one month
-
Post-program follow-up: After the initial month, participants are invited to continue with bi-monthly check-ins to support integration and ongoing development
-
Future coaching option: Upon completion of the study (anticipated early 2026), participants will have the opportunity to transition into regular 1–2 sessions per week for longer-term coaching and support, if desired
-
Sessions are held in person in Cambridge, MA and are provided at no cost.
Please note: Because this is a one-on-one research-based program, I can only take on two participants per month.
If the program is currently full, I will place you on the waitlist, and will reach out as soon as a spot opens—turnover happens approximately every two weeks.
